Making the Most of Things – A San Diego Resort Pass Day

The water slide

Our car needed a lot of work after a summer of exploring the west coast. And it was going to take all day. Luckily, within walking distance of our car-service location here in San Diego, is the Town and Country Resort. So we decided to make the most of our $2,000/all-day car service, and try out the Resort Pass for the first time.

We dropped off our car, walked over and had a nice breakfast at Arlo, the resort’s main restaurant. The live DJ was pretty fun while we ate. Once finished, our son wanted to try out the water slide. He enjoyed it so much, that we ended up spending the entire day there. It was a nice opportunity for us parents to just sit and read while he amused himself sliding down, and then walking up the four flights of stairs to do it again. All day. Literally between 11am and 4:30pm. And yes, I partook in the fun a few times as well.

The water was cool — unheated, but manageable (I’m not sure if this is just during the warmer months. I’m hoping it’s heated for those cooler times of year). Overall, we had a lot of fun with the resort pass. There are quite a few hotels and resorts in San Diego that participate, so we’ll likely work this into our schedule more often, whether we have work on the car to do or not.
