My Week – March 30, 2018
The last several weeks have been incredibly busy — this week I was able to slow down a little, breathe, and enjoy some of the typically beautiful weather that we have here in San Diego. It was also a good mix of designing and coding. I’ve found that I’m the happiest when bouncing between the two.
Design Work
Late last year, I did a quick proposal for a small startup looking to create a niche social media app. Nothing materialized out of it, but I’ve been meaning to go back and work on it more — do a little cleanup and refinement and drop it into the cliche phone on old-wood-table treatment that I like to do with these things.
Personal Projects
I generally find a few hours to work on Vimsio during the week. This week I implemented colored background on list items. I was starting to need to distinguish between things that I could easily check off, things that were on hold, and things that I couldn’t move forward with. Coloring the list items seems like a good way to do that, and since it was relatively easy to implement, I went ahead and worked on it.
Adventures
I started the week out the right way — by going on a fairly long and strenuous hike on the Dripping Springs Loop Trail. The weather was pretty dynamic which contributed to some great views.
