San Diego Beach Ride
Over the past couple of years, the number of adventures, both large and small seems to have dwindled. But this past summer we visited some favorite spots in the Pacific Northwest, and it really became apparent that I need to get out more.
Of course, I live in San Diego now, where there is some adventure available within the folds of the semiarid landscape, but it’s nothing like the Pacific Northwest. And unfortunately since I’m an adult, and (fortunately), I’m lucky enough to stay busy with my freelance web/app design work, my time to get out is pretty limited.
But we do have the beach.
By bike, I’m actually a somewhat ideal distance from that beach. Far enough away that it feels like at least a little bit of a workout (including a pretty decent hill on the way back), but close enough that I can fit in the ride within a slightly longer-than normal morning break.

So this past Thursday, I rode the beach. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden in the city, which I don’t usually enjoy, but luckily once I’m to the bottom of our hill, there’s a relatively nice bike path that will take me all the way to the sand and waves.
I only stuck around long enough to eat a quick snack and look around for a few minutes, before heading back home, up that nice little hill climb, and back to work. But it was a great break, and nice to get a little adventure in.
