Blog Adventure Carrizo Badlands Loop

Carrizo Badlands Loop

By Forrest Smith - Drempd.com

It’s been a while, and I’ve been itching to play in the desert. It’s hard to balance being a parent, a desire to sit on my rear and do nothing, and the always-burning drive to do little (or big) adventures. This day was a good mix of all — I slept in a bit, made a nice little breakfast, sat outside and relaxed on our patio while enjoying my coffee, and played legos with our little one.

By 10am though, I was ready, so I packed up the car and headed to the Carrizo Badlands area of Anza Borrego. Since riding up Arroyo Seco del Diablo last year (and being super-impressed), I’ve wanted to complete the loop by making the return trip via Arroyo Tapiado. I ended up doing it in reverse, but I’m sure it’s just as fantastic either way.
