Stopover

We stopped at Red Rock Canyon State Park on the drive up to the mountains. It made what is usually a long, arduous drive into two manageable ones, with some more opportunity for adventure mixed in.

We got into our campsite at about 12:15 an (after leaving around 7pm or so). We woke up the next morning to dynamic skies, which made for some fun scampering about and picture-taking. We had a nice lazy morning, fitting in a quick ride around the campground before continuing on to our final destination of Mammoth Lakes. It’s a good strategy – instead of driving all day to get to our final destination, we broke it up into a couple easier drives, which basically gave us a full extra day at Mammoth, instead of losing the entire day to driving.
