The Desert Has a Different Beauty
The desert has grown on me over the years. I think the beauty is a little different than other landscapes I typically have been drawn to. A lot of it is actually quite beautiful, but I find myself wanting to explore the small pockets where there are higher concentrations of beauty drawn together. Little nooks and small canyons, where there are nice compositions of cactus, wildflowers, and rock. A lone tree or two. A small perch framing a particular view.

And it feels like here in the desert, perhaps more than in the mountains or forests, you have to work a little harder to discover those places. But that’s part of the charm and beauty. It takes a little more searching, but it’s there.
