Blog Adventure The Routine Ride

The Routine Ride

By Forrest Smith - Drempd.com

It’s been forever since I’ve been out on my bike, partly due to being overly busy, and partly just waiting for the temperatures to cool down. I was actually a little nervous as I got ready to ride up my favorite hill – a nice little 1,000 foot climb to my little spot in the trees. Having been petty inactive for quite a few months, I wasn’t really expecting to be as strong as I used to be, and as a result, I wasn’t entirely sure how miserable the climb would be for me. While I did need a few more breaks than usual, I was pleasantly surprised with my performance. Certainly some work to be done, but overall not too bad.

Once I made it to my spot, I set up my hammock and hung around in the trees for a couple hours. It’s actually been quite a while since I’ve been in such a quiet environment – mainly just the birds and wind through the trees. I fully savoured my time in the trees, read a bit, stared at the sky, and soaked in as much of that quietness as I could.
